PHYSICS OF THE UNIVERSE PILOT BECOMES APPROVED COURSE IN SAN DIEGO
Piloted by SDUSD from 2023–2025, Physics of the Universe with Problem Solving is now a countywide high school physics course offered in 7 districts, 23 campuses, and serving over 1,300 students.
SECOND ANNUAL PROBLAMATHON COMPETITION
Building on the excitement of last year, PSLAE students returned to UCSD for another round of collaborative problem-solving.
UCSD LAUNCHES GE COURSE: ENG 30 – PROBLEM SOLVING FOR THE 21ST CENTURY CHANGEMAKER
Open to all majors, this project-based course builds universal problem-solving skills with a focus on real-world challenges like climate change.
FIRST ANNUAL PROBLAMATHON COMPETITION
We celebrated the hard work of PSLAE students and teachers with a friendly problem-solving competition at UCSD. After the competition, students toured a robotics lab on campus and learned about how self driving cars are made.
TESTING ACROSS NINE CAMPUSES WITH PARTICIPATION FROM 400 STUDENTS and 10 TEACHERS

PROBLEM-SOLVING BOOTCAMP FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS SU22
In summer of 2022, we piloted a four-week immersive problem-solving course for high school students throughout San Diego.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR TEACHERS SU22
A two-week intensive training program for teachers interested in learning the problem-solving curriculum and integrating it into their classrooms.
PILOT TESTING AT PREUSS, MIRA MESA HIGH SCHOOL, and CLAIREMONT HIGH SCHOOL
In the 2021 - 2022 academic year, we brought our problem solving curriculum to the design classrooms at multiple high school campuses! We collaborated with design and Project Lead The Way teachers to integrate and blend our modules into their lesson plans.
